Woolworths Distribution Centre (MoRDC)

The Moorebank Regional Distribution Centre (MoRDC) is a new ambient and temperature-controlled facility for fast moving consumer goods using next generation automation, which will both accepts goods from suppliers and from the nearby Moorebank National Distribution Centre (MoNDC) and send goods to Woolworths stores throughout the New South Wales Region. The project consists of the design and construction of a 39,384m2 warehouse in a 149,036m2 site, which RCC is the principal contractor. The warehouse consists of a high bay racking area, case buffer and conveyors areas, loading docks and associated offices, drivers’ amenities, MHS maintenance workshops, battery charging facilities, energy centre, truck wash, hardstands, and the second half of the conveyor and pedestrian airbridge to connect to the MoNDC. The warehouse is to be designed and constructed to achieve a 5 Star Green Star Design & As-built v1.3 rating. It is to be constructed with steel structure and precast panel and non-combustible insulated panels as external walls. Pad footings and bored piers as foundations. Two level of mezzanines within the warehouse with internal lifts and stairs. New Edge Group were appointed by Richard Crookes Construction to undertake all of the complex electrical services for the flagship distribution centre.
