Rosebery Engine Yards

New Edge Group is proud to present its involvement in the adaptive reuse refurbishment of the Rosebery Engine Yards. This project involves the transformation of an 11,650 square meter heritage-listed building into contemporary offices and showroom spaces. The refurbishment aims to achieve a 5-Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.3 and a 5-Star NABERS rating, ensuring top-tier sustainability and energy efficiency standards. The Rosebery Engine Yards site is divided into three distinct parcels, each designated for various uses, including office spaces, childcare facilities, a gym, and retail outlets, with ancillary end-of-trip and parking facilities to support the primary functions. Given the heritage significance of the building, New Edge Group undertook a meticulous approach to the mechanical services contract, focusing on preserving the cultural value of the building while integrating modern mechanical systems to support its new functions. The scope of work included installing energy-efficient HVAC systems, implementing state-of-the-art climate control solutions, and ensuring compliance with heritage preservation guidelines.

One of the primary challenges was maintaining the structural and aesthetic integrity of the heritage-listed building while upgrading its mechanical services. New Edge Group employed innovative techniques and collaborated closely with heritage consultants to ensure that the refurbishment work did not compromise the building’s historical value. Achieving a 5-Star Green Star Design & As Built v1.3 and a 5-Star NABERS rating was central to our approach. The mechanical systems were designed to optimise energy use, reduce emissions, and enhance indoor environmental quality, contributing significantly to the project’s overall sustainability goals.
